Xtream Codes and M3U
An Xtream account (server, username, password) or an M3U/M3U8 URL. Add several playlists and switch between them; the connection is tested before saving. An expired subscription says so plainly.
Oxtv is a player. It does not sell, host or recommend content. You add an Xtream Codes account or an M3U URL; Oxtv downloads the catalogue, dresses it with TMDB metadata and shows it the same way on phone, tablet, Mac and TV.
Every client talks to the same account and the same Firestore schema; a playlist added on one device shows up on the others. Versions are tracked in docs/VERSIONS.md.
Store listings are not open yet. Links will appear here when they are; we are not putting up a fake download button.
Every item below exists in the code and runs on at least one device. Nothing that is still unwritten is on this list.
An Xtream account (server, username, password) or an M3U/M3U8 URL. Add several playlists and switch between them; the connection is tested before saving. An expired subscription says so plainly.
Sign in with Apple or Google; playlists, favourites, watchlist and resume points sync across devices. An account is optional: in guest mode everything stays on that one device.
The TV shows a code, the phone scans and approves. There is no server; the TV links to your account under an anonymous identity and keeps access only while you allow it. You can cut it off from the phone.
Up to five profiles per account. Favourites, watchlist, resume points and settings such as language belong to the profile; playlists belong to the account. A kids profile always hides adult content and cannot change playlists or settings.
Adult content is hidden by default. The PIN stays on the device and is never sent to the cloud; five wrong attempts lock it for 60 seconds. Adult content is also kept out of watch history.
Resume points are saved for movies and series, and finished titles move to Watched. The audio and subtitle track you pick in a series is remembered for that series; a movie counts as finished when the credits start.
Movies and series in your playlist are matched against TMDB: logo, textless poster, backdrop, rating, cast, trailer, collection and recommendations. Unmatched titles keep the name your provider gave them.
A skip button for intro, recap and outro using skipdb.tv data; next episode in series. If there is a post-credits scene the player knows and does not cut it off.
Channel categories, favourites and your own named channel lists open from inside the player. Xtream playlists show what is on now and next; M3U playlists have no EPG.
Two interface languages. Follows the system language or is set by hand; switching does not need a restart. The choice syncs per profile.
An account is optional. The first two steps are enough; the third is for more than one device.
Store links are coming. For now bookmark this page or write to us and we will tell you when it ships.
Server address, username and password for Xtream; a URL for M3U. Oxtv tests the connection, downloads the catalogue and matches it against TMDB.
Apple or Google on the phone. Scan a QR on the TV. Your playlists and resume points become the same on every device.
Streams come from your provider and go straight there. Oxtv has no server; nothing you watch passes through us.
No ad SDK, no usage telemetry, no crash reporter. Requests that leave the app go to your provider, TMDB, skipdb.tv, OpenSubtitles and, if you signed in, Firebase.
In guest mode the password stays on the device. Once you sign in it is stored with the playlist in your account so you do not retype it on other devices. Only you and the TVs you linked can read it.
From Settings. Playlists, favourites, resume points, linked devices and the account itself go together; no email needed.
No. Oxtv is a player; it does not sell, recommend or host content. You bring the playlist, and its legality is your responsibility.
Panels that expose the Xtream Codes API (server + username + password) and M3U/M3U8 URLs. M3U has no EPG; Xtream shows what is on now and next.
Pricing has not been decided. When it is, it will be stated here and inside the app; for now there is no price.
Store dates are not set. It is being tested on two real Samsung TVs; the other clients follow the same code base. Write to us and we will let you know when it is out.
No. Streams come from the internet anyway, and the app does not open without a connection. The catalogue is cached on the device so it is not downloaded from scratch at every launch.
The TV shows a code and a QR; Oxtv on your phone scans and approves. The code is valid for five minutes. Apple TV also has direct Sign in with Apple.
In guest mode only on the device (the keychain on Apple devices, local storage on TVs). Once you sign in it is stored with the playlist in your account and only your devices can read it. Details are on the privacy page.
We have not shipped yet; this page exists to collect opinions. Tell us which device you want it on, what is in your playlist, what you expect. The form opens your mail app; there is no server.
